60 East’s “Mood Muzik mixtape” contains beats that bring attention to the lyrics that he spills over the 11 track album. His references to legends in hip hop, as well his personal narrative that describes his experiences as an emcee that’s starting to gather recognition from fans outside of his usual camp. 60’s vision to give Ontario, Ca more recognition outside of its shopping centers leave the artist focusing on the brotherhood that exists in the city. His concern for this can be heard in songs such as “Under the Sun” in which he talks about an formidable pair against the world. “Good Enough” shows the artist pushing for a break from the Hollywood facade. 60 keeps the spirit of hip hop alive by questioning why the essence of the genre has died by criticizing outlandish mainstream artists. He fires back at this by putting his focus in the one thing that matters in hip hop- the music.

60 East – Mood Muzik Volume One

is a versatile production with a good choice of creative beats. 60 East delivers confident punching lyrics on point and his subject matters are mature and original. This project gives an understanding of what 60 East represents, the realities that he faces and his heartfelt emotions in his daily-life and particularly towards the rap/hip-hop music industry.

The flow of the mixtape compilation is exceptional, each track illustrates the next chapter in the story of 60 East’s moods of hope, reflection and frustration. The calm but robust themes encourage the playing of the mixtape from beginning to end without the urge to scroll through or skip tracks. And some of my favourite lines from across the mixtape include:
“make sure the juice is worth the squeeze.”
“love is the only time I fall.”
“I’m gonna kidnap the game, hold it for ransom, but I don’t plan on giving it back.”

60 East Back 60 East has not shied away from the
role-call of key players in the rap/hip-hop industry and in his frustrated mood towards the industry he lets rip with
‘Who Killed It Pt.1’, a controversial track
(but also one of my favourites). You’ll definitely play this one on repeat!!

Mood Muzik is released December 10, 2013 and available at 60east.bandcamp.com

60 EAST - Mood Muzik Mixtape (Review) By Backhand Ent.

Most of you know 60 EAST (formerly known as AMITS) as that guy with the PAID DUES tatted on his neckpiece like a straight savage. Or 1/3 of the First Dirt boys. Usually 60 is reserved & laid back. Don’t get it twisted because he will call cats out on their bs. Straight from the deepest parts of the IE, he has been pushing & grinding nonstop for the last few years. Toured the country & attended almost every indie hip hop event in SoCal. Prior to that, he was killing in the Battle Rap scene. He helped catapult the First Dirt brand to the next level. This very same reason is how FD was able to smash on the Paid Dues Stage 2013.
Aside from all the various projects that dropped & are stewing up within the FD crew, 60 is coming w/ a hard hitting mixtape entitled MOOD MUZIK. He breaks down the misleading current state of Hip Hop & the struggles of the independent hustle. His delivery is polished & the Joe Budden selection of production compliments his style. There were no features on this project. It would’ve been nice to have a verse from Timothy Rhyme & Rymeezee on there. My personal favorites are If I Die Tomorrow & Who Killed It. This will be appreciated by all hip hop enthusiasts alike. BARS! BARS! BARS! Don’t sleep on 60 East. Look out for anything First Dirt is doing IE Stand Up!

“For those who have gave 60 some undivided attention & an ear in the past, you know there is no boundaries with him. Speaking on subjects most would hide from the world really shows where he sits as an artist & a person in general. “Mood Muzik” is no exception. With the intentions of making people think by using his rhymes as a relative ladder, i really felt the connection with him on this mixtape.”

“Mood Muzik was a great choice of name for this Mix Tape. Which displayed raw emotion, and spoke about the underground in a way people never looked at the game. Honestly cant wait to hear more from this artist and others from First Dirt.”

8thOfDope.com Mixtape Review: 60 East - Mood Muzik

Shoutout to our fam over at 8th Of Dope for this dope ass review!

“The First Dirt team hit the ground running after rocking the stage at the 2013 Paid Dues festival in San Bernardino back in March. It seems every time i turn around FD is conjuring up a new project & in a nutshell, turning heads. With that being said, 60 East brings you another heartfelt installment with his latest mixtape “Mood Muzik Volume one” dropping December 10th, 2013. Consisting of a selection of production by Joe Budden, he attempts to tap into your deepest thoughts with this tape. 60 hit the nail on the head when describing this project by saying “From beginning to end the listener is taken through a series of personal stories and life experiences, in a raw and lyrical fashion”. ”
